Salt Dough Dinosaur Fossils & Bones

June 5, 2014momstownCraftNo comments
June is all about Dinosaurs, so here is a quick and easy salt dough recipe to make some fossils for your own excavation… Best part? It doesn’t need an oven!

momstown Central Alberta made up some dinosaur fossils, bones, and teeth out of salt dough to dig up at our Toddler Time: Dinosaur Dig program. This salt dough recipe is quick, easy, and best of all – doesn't require an oven. Just a microwave! The bones and fossils are ready under an hour.

So enjoy making some of these with your toddlers, preschoolers, or older kids… Then have fun digging them up!

You can bury them in sand, dirt, or anything you want. We used paintbrushes to brush off the bones like Paleontologists, but you can also add in sieves or other tools to enhance the play.
