The Great Cloth Diaper Change 2015 – Red Deer

momstown Central Alberta is hosting The Great Cloth Diaper Change 2015 in Red Deer at the momstown Community Celebration!
By Chani Palindat

Join us at our momstown Community Celebration on April 18th, 2015 as we attempt to break last year's international world record of most cloth diapers simultaneously changed at one time! This  Guinness World Record attempt is a great way to show the world how many people are already choosing and using reusable cloth diapers successfully. But there are still a lot of people who don’t know about cloth diapers. So spread the word, pack the cutest cover for your little one's fluffy bum, and bring a friend to make this the largest number yet. Have a friend who is interested in cloth diapering? Why not lend them a diaper to join in on the fun?

If you are wanting to join us for The Change, please arrive for registration at 10:30am – every fluffy bum counts, and we need to have all diaper changers registered to verify and qualify for the Guinness Record. Ready for the countdown? At 11am all participants will change those bums into their fresh cloth diaper.

The Change will be hosted by momstown Central Alberta at the Momstown Community Celebration on April 18th, 2015. This event is FREE from 10-4pm, with the Cloth Diaper Change registration starting at 10:30. Find us at the Harvest Centre in Westerner Park at the main stage.

Make Registration easy by pre-registering on eventbrite!

Participant Requirements:

  • Any 100% reusable cloth diaper can be used if it can be purchased online or at a physical retail store, or is available through your diaper service. This includes diapers made by WAHMs, as long as they can be purchased online or in a physical store. The Guinness Record does not allow for diapers that are homemade if they are not sold in either of these two scenarios.
  • Participants MUST change any disposable diaper bums  INTO a cloth diaper for the actual Change to qualify.
  • Cloth trainers do NOT qualify.
  • One participating adult per baby.
  • Participating diaperee must be 39" or shorter to qualify.
  • Participants must be 18 years or older.

Why Cloth Diapers? Reusable cloth diapers have many benefits, including:

  • Environmental: Cloth diapers reduce waste for families with children in diapers by more than 50%.
  • Financial: Cloth diapers allow families to save more than $2000 per child.
  • Health: Cloth diapers help parents reduce exposure of their babies’ skin and lungs to the chemicals in disposable diapers.
  • Cute and comfortable: Parents love putting soft cloth diapers, available in a variety of styles and patterns, on their babies.
  • Convenient: Once you’ve purchased your stash, no more weekly trips to the store to purchase more – simply put a load in the laundry!

Want to get some fluff after the Change? Get your shop on and say "Hi" to our amazing title sponsor, The Cloth Diaper Source! Pocket diapers, swim diapers, all-in-ones, accessories, and more! Don't forget to also stop by Pure & Simple Babies, and Rumparounds Diapers for more local shopping. All of these wonderful companies are well versed in all things cloth, and will be able to arrange consultations, answer questions, and help you make the best purchase for your little one(s).
