http://reddeernordic.ca/?page_id=17
Through close collaboration between the City of Red Deer, Riverbend Golf and Recreation Society and the Parkland Ski Club, over 30 kilometers of groomed ski trails are available each winter throughout the Waskasoo Park system – right within the City boundaries. The majority of the ski trails are centered in two areas: the Heritage Ranch/Great Chief Park (HR/GCP) and the Riverbend Golf and Recreation Area (Riverbend). A biathlon shooting range is also available at Riverbend. Shorter trail loops are also provided at Barrett Park, the Red Deer College lands and in various school playgrounds.
Heritage Ranch
We are located right off of the QE2 Highway.
Access beside the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame.
Originally the homestead of Raymond L. Gaetz (Red Deer's first Mayor), the property was later purchased by the Hoopfer family before being turned over to the City to be used as a recreational area. Today, Heritage Ranch is a locally owned and operated business, that sits on 217 acres of municipal land.
The onsite fully licensed restaurant, The Westlake Grill, along with the Ranch's central location make it the ideal meeting space, wedding venue or destination for a night out.
