Gingerbread Sugar Scrub

December 3, 2014momstownRecipeNo comments
A festive body scrub that smells like Gingerbread, perfect for Christmas gifts or as a stocking stuffer.
Preparation Time: 15
Cooking Time: 1
Yield: 2 cups
Description:

Are you looking for a handcrafted gift for someone special, or even yourself? This festive body scrub is easy to mix up, and smells deliciously like a cookie! A thoughtful gift to say thank you and Happy Holidays to a teacher, caregiver, loved one, friend, or neighbour.
This sugar body scrub gently sloughs off dead skin cells to reveal smooth and polished skin. Exfoliating weekly helps to prevent dry and rough skin patches, as well. Perfect for winter weather! The cinnamon in this recipe also helps to improve circulation and warms you right up. But don't take our word for it, try it!

Ingredients:

1 cup Sugar
1 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Coconut Oil (melted)
1/4 cup Carrier Oil (Almond, Grapeseed, Jojoba…)
1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp All-Spice
1 tbsp Ginger
1 tsp Nutmeg
Mason jar(s) with lid

Heat up your Coconut Oil in a heat resistant dish until liquified. Set aside.

2. Combine your Carrier Oil with Coconut Oil, stirring until blended.

3. Pour in your white sugar, combine until blended. Add in your brown sugar, combine until blended.

4. Stir in and combine until blended your spices and vanilla.

NOTE: If you would like your scrub to be more Scented, then feel free to add more of one or another spices.

5. When finished, spoon into a clean and dry mason jar, and seal with the lid.

You can adorn with a bow, ribbon, or tag. Another fun option for presentation, is to place a festive cupcake liner inside the mason jar between the metal disk and the threaded lid. You will then see the coloured paper in the centre of the jar lid instead of the metal.
