How to create glitter playdough for sensory play with kids
Preparation Time: 5
Cooking Time: 20
Yield:
Description:

Many kids love to play with playdough. Of course you can just purchase it in convenient packages at the store, but you can also have fun with your kids and make your own at home! The great thing is that when you make it at home, the ingredients you use are in the cupboard already and it makes more than you would get with a single cup of playdoh.

Ingredients:

2 cups flour
1 cup salt
2 cups water
4 tsp cream of tartar
2 tbsp oil
1/2 – 1 cup glitter
OPTIONAL: sequins and large glitter
medium sized saucepan, spoon, stove.
appx 5 drops each of desired food colouring

Mix all ingrediets together in a medium sized saucepan. Stir to combine well.

2. Over medium heat, stir your playdough consistently and continually to prevent burning to the bottom.

3. Continue to cook on stove until dough forms into a ball (or is able to be formed into a ball).

4. Remove from stove and pot onto counter or surface, allowing to cool. Dough will be HOT.

5. When dough has cooled, knead until smooth on the counter or surface.

6. Store or play! When storing, use an airtight container. Playdough will last weeks for playtime when stored correctly.
